About our Chapter

The Women of Enlightenment chapter of the National Association of Colored Women's Club was chartered on the campus of Illinois State University January 24th, 2015. Founder, Toni Wells, envisioned becoming a part of an organization at Illinois State University that would seek campus unity as well as uplift the African-American community, and through the discovery of NACWC, she has been able to fulfill that dream. Eleven young women, charter members, helped bring the Women of Enlightenment chapter to fruition, and one year later, twenty-three young women were inducted.
